The Healing Gardens

The Healing Gardens are working gardens growing a variety of medicinal and culinary herbs, flowers, and ornamentals, thereby creating beautiful spaces and involving the residents in their care. A total of 33 Residents (30 Adults, 3 Children) participate in the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Day Habilitation Program. These residents who live and work on the farm help to grow, harvest, and process the herbs. During the growing season the work is primarily outdoors in the gardens. During the winter season the residents work in the greenhouse and the CSA Herbal Workshop, processing, bottling, and labeling our products. These products are then distributed among the residences on the campus, our Co-op store, and the Farmer’s Markets.

(In 1 oz glass bottles with dropper, on a base of organic corn alcohol)

• IMMUNE BOOST (Echinacea, Spilanthes, Cayenne, Angelica, Hyssop, Nettle, Thyme, Sage)
• DIGEST AID: (Chamomile, Chicory, Mint, Dandelion, Sage, Savory, Coriander)
• RELAX AID: (Oat, Valerian, Basil, Catnip, Oregano, Chamomile)

Creams:

(In 2 oz glass jars, on a base of plant extracted in organic olive oil and/or alcohol, cetostearyl alcohol and cetomacrogol 1000)

• HERBAL SKIN CREAM (Chamomile, Calendula, Comfrey, Lavender, With almond oil)

Ointments:

(In 2 oz glass jars on a base of plant extracted in olive oil and/or alcohol, beeswax, yellow paraffin and cetostearyl alcohol. Lip balm in ¼ oz plastic jars)
