Originally from outside Detroit Michigan Brett Budde received his Masters in Art at Yale in 2003. Although his love of art was strong, his love of city lifestyle and gallery life was not and he decided to pursue the natural next step, to become a farmer. Brett moved with his wife Sara and dog Max to Sullivan County to pursue farming and a more rural lifestyle. After expanding his knowledge of orchards and bees as well as livestock management on his own farm Brett found himself looking for more. Since his wife was employed with the Center, Brett knew it would be a great place to be. He joined the farm team in 2010 working alongside the head herdsperson. When a position opened focusing on the bees and orchards Brett found his calling. Since then he has taken on the Herdsperson position as well. On weekends he enjoys bringing his children Rocket and Walker to see the inner workings of the farm.
